“Essential for the End Times” Series – The Great City Sermon

Watch this powerful sermon as Pastor Terry ministers on The Great City of God – The New Jerusalem.

The signs of the times are around us for the second coming of Christ. Every Bible prophecy is fulfilled and as the Church we should be watching and waiting for Jesus’s return is imminent. In this message you will see through God’s Word an “up to date” picture of what is taking in our world as the Lord’s return is drawing near. Let us be anticipating Jesus’ return with expectancy and a renewed fervency.

Life Church Nov. 8th Service – 5 Essential Things You Need To Know About the End Times

There are five essential things you need to know about the end times, but first and foremost you need to know, in the end, victory is ours! In this message you will learn how to prepare yourself for what’s to come by “taking heed to yourself”; not being troubled; enduring like a soldier of Christ; proclaiming the gospel all over the world; and looking up for the coming of Jesus!

“When They See These Two Things

There are many times in life where the world, your flesh (feelings and/or emotions), or the devil will attack you out of nowhere. It seems like in these days, the enemy will attack you whenever he feels like it. And your problem is he attacks so much and so often you have no time to prepare for the attacks. And the Spirit of the Lord says to you there are two things I have given you which will make the enemy have second thoughts on attacking you. There are two things I have given you that will make the enemy have to plan their attacks on you instead of attacking you any time they want. You must never have the mindset that the world, the flesh, and the devil will not attack you. Especially, the devil. For the Word of God says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” (I Peter 5:8)

As long as you confess Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you will have an enemy. If you have Jesus in your heart, you will always have an enemy to attack. Why don’t they just leave me alone, Pastor Erick? I have not bothered anybody. The reason they will not leave you alone is because your relationship with Jesus has an effect on those around you. When you make Jesus the Lord of your life, the light of His glory will begin to attract those around you who are wondering what makes you tic. How can they be smiling when they are going through the same thing I am going through? How can they be at peace when all hell is breaking out in their lives? How can they keep going when life keeps trying to stop them? This opens a door for Jesus to reveal himself through you. And the enemy of your soul just cannot have that. All this time you thought the enemy was attacking you just because they did not want you to succeed in life. But the truth of the matter is the enemy attacks you all the time because your life not only glorifies God; your life attracts others to seek God as well.

Let me show you an example of this in the Word of God. There was a man by the name of Lazarus. You have heard of him. He is the man Jesus raised from the dead John 11. After Jesus did this miracle for Lazarus, people began to want to be around him and hear his story about what Jesus did for him. And look what the Word says about this. “But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.” (John 12:10 -11 [emphasis added]) It is not just you that the enemy attacks, it is what Christ has done in you and for you which attracts others to Jesus. This is the reason the enemy attacks so often. But if you keep these two things, your enemies will have to pick and choose when they attack.

If you keep a praise in your mouth and a sword in your hand, the enemy will have to pick and choose when they attack. The Word of God says, “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel (his children).” (Psalm 22:3 [emphasis added]) When you praise God, the Holy Spirit of God arises from the throne of your heart, and He sits right there in the midst of your praise. Okay, Pastor Erick, what is so special about that? Here, read this. “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.” (Psalm 68:1) The devil cannot deal with you praising God. And the second thing to make the enemy pick and choose his attacks is if you have a sword in your hand. Whenever the world, your flesh, or the devil hear you say it is written, they will know God himself has trained you to fight. “Blessed be the Lord my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: . . .” (Psalm 144:1) They will not come up on you all willy nilly simply because they know they will be in for a fight when they hear it is written. For it is written:

Let the high praises of god be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord. (Psalms 149:6-9 [emphasis added])

If you want the enemy of your soul to back up off you, keep a praise in your mouth and a sword in your hand. They will have to pick and choose when they attack from this point on.
Be Blessed!

“From the Heart

There is a strategy religion has placed in the body of Christ which has twisted the truth into something hindering many of the children of God. Religion has told many children of God to just say what God says, and you will get what God’s Word say you can have. There is some truth to the statement. “Say unto them, As truly as I lie, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you: . . .” (Numbers 14:28) The enemy has taken a truth and twisted it to get you to speak from another place rather than speaking from the place where God will hear you the most. And that is from the heart. You must understand this one truth: The devil knows what the Word of God says.

The enemy of your soul is the wicked one. He will take a truth and twist it to become what he wants it to be, and get you to do what he wants you to do. It is like wicker furniture. Wicker is a technique for making products woven from any one of a variety of pliable plant material to create chairs, tables and baskets. And the enemy of your soul is a professional at using God’s Word to make it something else. Here, take a look. “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Genesis 3:1 [emphasis added])

If that is not enough to convince you, look at this.

Then the devil taketh him (Jesus) up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: (look at this – this is the devil talking) for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. (Matthew 4:5-6 [emphasis added])

The devil was quoting Psalms 91:11-12. But what you do not see is that he only took part of that scripture and twisted it to fit his plans. He conveniently left out verse 9 and 10. “Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There (being one with God) shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.” (Psalm 91:9-10 [emphasis added]) Sure Psalm 91:11-12 is true but there is a stipulation to that truth. You have to make the Lord your dwelling place; you have to stay one with God. And to stay one with God you must tell him the truth; you must speak from the heart. Stop telling God what you think he wants to hear. Begin to speak to God from your heart and tell him the truth. Yes, the Word of God says, “For God does hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (II Timothy 1:7) But if fear is flooding your heart, tell God the truth. Tell him you are scared and then speak II Timothy 1:7. Yes, the Word of God says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105) But you have to tell God the truth. If you cannot see where you are going in life, tell God that and then speak Psalm 119:105.

The reason why this “name it and claim it” Gospel will not work for a child of the Most High God is simply because the Father is looking for His children to speak the truth from their heart. But, Pastor Erick, God will not understand why I am scared, I am mad, why I fell,  or why I did this or that. God will not understand why I said this and that. Here, let me put this in your spirit. The Word of God says, “Great is our Lord, and of great power; his understanding is infinite.” (Psalm 147:5 [emphasis added]) This is why He sent Jesus. In His humanity, Jesus experienced everything you are experiencing. “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15) Tell God the truth. Speak from your heart especially when the world, your flesh (feelings and or emotions), and the devil are telling you God will not understand. For it is written:

The Lord is nigh (near) unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfill the desires of them that fear (honor) Him: He also will hear their cry, and will save them.” (Psalms 145:18-19 [emphasis added])

Do not just tell God what you think He wants to hear. Tell Him the truth from your heart. Only then will He be able to come and help you.
Be Blessed!

“While You Are Here

While you are here in the land of the living, there is something that the world, your flesh, and the devil is after. It is a valuable piece of you the church does not speak much of. You know and heard the enemy wants your mind. You are aware the enemy wants your heart. You even know the enemy wants to use your body to benefit them. But the one thing the enemy desires most nobody talks much about is your soul. If the enemy can possess your soul, he can have your heart, soul, and mind. If he can possess your soul, he can have your body and will have the ability to do anything he wants. Jesus said, “For what shall it profit a man (woman), if he (she) shall gain the whole world, and lose his (her) own soul?” (Mark 8:36 [emphasis added]) Listen to me! While You Are Here in the land of the living, the devil wants one thing: your soul.

Why would the devil want my soul, Pastor Erick? Nobody has ever talked to me about that. The enemy wants your soul for two reasons. For one, your soul is where your decision capabilities lay. Information is given to your soul through three channels/gages: eyes, ears, and mouth. What you hear, see, and say is placed in your soul. Your soul gives information to your spirit (the very essence of who you are), which tells everything else about you what to do, say, how to respond, and/or how to react While You Are Here in the land of the living. But the main reason why the enemy wants your soul is because your soul is precious to God. Humanity can care about you – what you think, want, how you feel, and how you act. But the one thing humanity does not have the ability to do is care for your soul. The only way any human being can have the ability to care for another person’s soul is if Jesus Christ is their personal Lord and Savior. Because the Holy Spirit dwells in the believer, he creates a new heart. He renews in them a right spirit, which allows them to experience the heart of the Father. And I do not know if you know this, but your soul is very precious to the Father – far more precious than any human being could even imagine. How do I know, Pastor Erick?

Here, just sit down and chew on this for a minute. “They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother (sister), nor give to God a ransom for him (her): (For the redemption of their soul is precious, . . .” (Psalm 49:6-8 [emphasis added]) Take a look at this. “He (God) shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy. He (God himself) shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood (lives) be in His sight.” (Psalm 72:13-14 [emphasis added]) The devil does not care about your soul. He wants your soul because it is very precious to God. And if the enemy can have your soul, it would mean he has something which means a great deal to God. This is one of the reasons the devil does not want you to read the Word of God. For the Word of God says, “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: . . .” (Psalm 19:7)

God’s Word gets into your soul. Your soul feeds your spirit, giving you the ability to move in the will of God, rather than the will of man. The Word of God gives information to your soul which feeds your spirit giving you the ability to have kingdom thoughts instead of being overwhelmed by your flesh (feelings and or emotions). And when the Word of God gets into your soul, it gives you the ability to discern the lies of the devil, and walk (live) in the truth of God. In this place (the land of the living) humanity does not have the ability to care about one’s soul if God is not in their heart. Give your soul to God for He is the only one who truly cares about it. For it is written:

I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living (in this place). (Psalm 142:4-5 [emphasis added])

Lift up your soul to God today for He is the only one who truly cares for it.

Be Blessed!
