“A Hard Truth”

Thought for Today: A HARD TRUTH

There is someone in your life that you have been praying about for a long time. However, they have made up in their mind, heart, and soul that they are not changing for anything or nobody. They are who they are, and you can accept them or reject them, but whatever your decision is they will not change.

I know in your heart and mind you may be thinking “If God can change me, He can change anybody.” And so, you continue to toil in prayer for them, not wanting to give up on them.

I know you may find this very hard to believe but there are many people in the world, and in your life, who will simply reject the word of God. For the word of God says, “Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart” (Ephesians 4:18).

God is all-knowing and all-seeing, He knows who will accept the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ, and He knows who will reject Jesus Christ as the Son of the living God.

Jesus Christ, Himself, said, “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, that one that judgeth him; the word that I have spoken the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:48). You have been going back and forth about this one person that you have been praying for and because your heart is so big you just cannot give up on this person; you will continue to pray even though you know in your heart they will not change. I need you to go before the Lord and ask God this question, “Lord, will this person ever change?” For the word of God says, “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, THE LORD KNOWETH THEM THAT ARE HIS. And let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Timothy 2:19).

Yes, God is all-powerful, and there is nothing that God cannot do, but God will not make a person accept who He is. For the word of God says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man (woman) hear my voice, and open the door, I will come into him (her) and will sup with him (her) and he (she) with me” (Revelation 3:20).

I know this is a hard truth to accept but the truth of the matter is everybody will not accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Jesus, Himself, said, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me” (Matthew 15:8).

Jesus said again in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not every one that saith unto me, LORD, LORD, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say unto me, in that day LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then I WILL PROFESS UNTO THEM, I NEVER KNEW YOU DEPART FROM ME YE THAT WORK INIQUITY.”

Get with God and ask Him if the person you are praying for will ever change. I know this is A HARD TRUTH, but there are many people in the world, and in your life, who will not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior no matter how hard you pray.

For it is written, “Then said the Lord unto me, PRAY NOT FOR THIS PEOPLE FOR THEIR GOOD. When they fast, I will not hear their cry, and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I WILL NOT ACCEPT THEM; but I will consume them by the sword and by the famine and by the pestilence” (Jeremiah 14:11-12).

Get with the Father and ask God “Will this person ever change?” God knows the beginning from the End, and THE HARD TRUTH is some people will not change no matter what, and God will never make a person accept who He is.

I know this is not the normal encouraging thought for today but it’s the truth, and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

Be Blessed
