“Actions Speak Louder than Words”

Thought for Today: Actions Speak Louder than Words

Nowadays, there are many who claim to be believers in the Lord Jesus. You ask the question “what church do you go to?” and they respond, “oh, I don’t go to church that often, but I still believe.” You mention praying, and they say “I pray when I need to.” You speak the Word, and they say “I really don’t read the bible. I have one, I just don’t read it that often, but I still know God.”

Then, you have those who say “I love Jesus,” but you hear them cursing up a storm. You hear them say “Jesus is my Lord and Savior,” and yet you watch them lie, cheat, steal, and kill others with their words. You tell them that they have to forgive that person for what they have done to them, and they will tell you “I just can’t forgive them, you don’t know what they have done to me.”

In these last days, the church that Jesus said He will build “and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” in Matthew 16:18 will begin to rise above the man-made church. This world is in need of light, life, and truth. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me” (John 14:6).

When you say “I AM a child of God,” what you are saying is “God has made me Christ-like.” Romans 8:29 says, “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.” And if God is doing a work in you, your actions (your life) should speak louder than your words.

If you are a child of God, that means God is changing the way you think. The Word of God says “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God. But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men” (Philippians 2:5-7). You are not going to think like the world thinks

If you are a child of God, if God is truly working in your life, He is working on the words that come out of your mouth. The Word of God says, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers” (Ephesians 4:29).

If you are a child of God, which means God is making you Christ-like, you would forgive that person that did you wrong. For the Word of God says, “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any’ even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye” (Colossians 3:13).

If you are a child of God, you would treat your enemies just like you would treat a brother or sister. Jesus said “But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:44).

I know the world, your flesh, and the devil will point out that you are not Jesus. They will say, “He is the Son of God, you can’t do what He did, you can’t live like He lived,” but the devil is a liar. You may not be THE Son of God, but you are A CHILD OF GOD. When you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit now dwells on the throne of your heart.

And the Word of God says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons (daughters) of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). What this Word is saying is that, God gave you the power (the ability to live) the life that Jesus lived.

The Holy Spirit will help you live the life that Jesus lived while He was here on this earth, and not just talk the talk; He will empower you to do the will of God in your life, forgive others, love thy neighbor as thyself, walk by faith and not by sight, not only know the will of God the Father but stay and do the will of God in every situation in your life. For, as a child of God, your actions will speak much louder than your words.

For it is written, “But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first and said, Son go work today in my vineyard. He answered and said I will not; but afterward he repented and went. And he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go sir; and went not. Whether of them twain (which one of them) did the will of his father? They said unto him the first. Jesus saith unto them Verily I say unto you, that the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you” (Matthew 21: 28-31).

In these last days, it is not enough to just say that you are a child of God. Your life (the way you live according to the Word, will, and way of God) should speak so much louder than your words. It’s good to let them hear you are a child of God, but it’s more effective when they see that you are a child of God. Let your actions speak louder than your words today.

Be Blessed
