Thought for Today: ANOINTED BY GOD

There is a lie being spread in the church that has kept many of God’s children from walking in the power of God. The lie, which has been spread for years in the church, is that only those who are in the five-fold ministry are anointed.  

This idea comes from Ephesians 4:11-12, which says, “And he gave some, apostles; and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors, and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” 

Yes, God did anoint individuals called into one of the above ministries to edify or build up the body of Christ, but religion has made you believe that only those mentioned above are anointed.  

Can I speak the truth to you today? If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you have been anointed. YES YOU, you read right, YOU ARE ANOINTED. You see, the word “anointed” does not just mean to be selected to a certain position in the kingdom of God.  

You have believed a lie which says that if you do not have a position in the church then you are not anointed. The devil is a liar. You see, another definition for the word “anointed” is when the power of the Holy Spirit comes upon, or the ability of God that comes upon, a person and enables them to do things that they are not capable of doing with their own strength.  

The enemy does not want you to know this truth that YOU ARE ANOINTED by God. The very minute you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior you were anointed and you were given the ability to do things that normal people just can’t do.  

For the word of God says, “But he (she) that is joined unto the Lord is one Spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17). You have to get this in your heart, your mind, your spirit, and your soul. The word of God says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man (woman) be in Christ, he (she) is a new creature (a new type of human being) old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” 

When you said “Jesus, I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior,” God took His Super and fused it with you natural, which gives you the ability to live a supernatural life.  

Yes, the Pastor, the Prophet, the Preacher, the Teacher, and the Evangelist are anointed, but I came by on my way to heaven to inform you, SO ARE YOU. You may not be anointed in the five-fold ministry, but you are anointed of God.  

For it is written, “But the anointing which ye have received of Him (the Holy Spirit of God) abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you; but as the same ANOINTING teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie,  and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him” (1 John  2:27). 

You cannot live your life by what you feel, you must live your life by what you know. Agree with the word of God, get up each day and say “I AM ANOINTED BY GOD,” say it again, “I AM ANOINTED BY GOD,” say it one more time with me, “I AM ANOINTED BY GOD!”  

When you accept this truth and get it in your spirit, no weapon formed against you will prosper.
