“Keep the Word & Keep the Promise”

Thought for Today: Keep the Word & Keep the Promise

For most of your life you have been taught that the devil doesn’t want you to keep God’s Word in your heart because he just doesn’t want you to know who God is.  Religion tried to convince you that because you are a sinner you must get your life right with God first before you get to know God through His word.

But the Word of God says “ But as many as received him, to them gave he (she)power to becomes sons (daughters) of God even to them that believe on his name” John 1:12 The truth of the matter is when you KEEP GOD’S WORD you get to KEEP GOD’S PROMISE, and God promises that when you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, God gave you the ability to become His child. And when you become a child of God the devil has no more power over you.

And as far as religion telling you that you had to get right with God first before you can keep His word in your heart and keep all the promises that God has for you, the word of God says “But God commendeth his love towards us (God showed us just how much he loves you) in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us”.

Listen to me, one of the main reasons why the world, your flesh, and the devil fight you so hard to get you to live your life according to their standards is simply because when you keep the word of God as your way of life, you will keep the promise of God in your life.

What the enemy doesn’t want you to know is the agreement that God has made with you when you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. I came by on my way to heaven to show you what the devil never wanted you to know hidden in God’s word.

Here is the agreement that God has made with you, yes you, it is found in Deuteronomy 29:9 “KEEP THEREFORE THE WORDS OF THIS COVENANT (agreement between you and God) AND DO THEM THAT YE MAY PROSPER IN ALL THAT YE DO”.

To prosper means to succeed in material terms, be financially successful, flourish physically, mentally, and emotionally in every area of your life. Does this mean you won’t have trials? NO. Does this mean that you won’t have heartache, tribulation, or pain? NO! Does this mean the world, the flesh, or the devil will stop attacking you? NO!

I don’t know if you know this or not, but God and His word is one in the same. You keep the word of God in your heart, you keep God in your heart. To keep God in your heart is to keep God’s word in your heart. This is what John 1:1 meant when it said “In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God and THE WORD WAS GOD.

God made you a promise that when you keep the agreement, when you accept God’s way of having an intimate personal relationship with you through His Son Jesus the Christ, the Holy Spirit; you will receive all the promises of God. This is the agreement that God has made with you.

“For it is written Neither with you only do I (God) make this covenant (this agreement) and this oath. But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD thy GOD and also with him (her) that is not here with us this day” Deuteronomy 29:14-15.

God himself made you a promise even before you were born that if you kept His word, He would keep His promise to always be there with you. And if God be for you who can be against you. Keep God’s word in your heart, mind, and soul and know that the promises of God are yea and Amen.

“Hold On To It”

Thought for Today: Hold On To It

There is something that the enemy is looking for you to give to him. The reason why he is waiting for you to give this one thing to him is that he cannot take it from you, simply because he did not give it to you.

The enemy wants you to give your peace away. He does this by convincing you to give that person a piece of your mind. Tell them about themselves, don’t let them get away with that, you have the right to tell them off.

But the word of God says, “A fool uttereth all his mind; but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards” (Proverbs 29:11). Don’t be so quick to give them your peace by giving them a piece of your mind.

The peace of God is too valuable to just give away. Gods’ peace is nothing like the peace of the world. There is a difference between the two. “How do you know that, Pastor Erick?” Well, Jesus said “PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU, MY PEACE I GIVE UNTO YOU; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).

Here is the difference between the two: The peace of the world is freedom from problems, trial, heartaches, pain, stress, confusion, frustration, agony, and fear. But the peace of God is freedom from disturbance.

Now I know you are asking “What in the word does that mean, Pastor Erick?” The word of God says in 1 Corinthians 6:17, “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” The peace of God means that you will not let anyone or anything disturb your oneness with God.

When trials and tribulations come, they won’t rattle your cage because you are one with God. When heartaches and pain come knocking at your door, yes you will feel it, but you will not allow it to disturb your oneness with God.

When they curse you out, talk about you, lie about you, ridicule you and mock you, because you are one with God, it will give you the power to (or the ability to) HOLD ON TO the peace of God.

When you don’t give them a piece of your mind because of what they said or what they did, they will be the one confused, perplexed, walking away in anger because they do not understand why you still stayed peaceful.

When you stay one with God, when you know that God is in control of everything in and for your life, this gives you the ability to hold your peace. This is what the word of God meant in Philippians 4:7, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Don’t be so quick to give your peace away by reacting or responding to their actions, words, or deeds. They cannot take your peace from you, but you can easily give your peace away to them by giving them a piece of your mind right then and there.

For it is written, “I said, I will take heed to my ways (I will think before I do or say anything) that I sin not with my tongue; I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. I was dumb with silence, I HELD MY PEACE, even from good and my sorrow was stirred” (Psalm 39:1-2).

The Lord is the Prince of Peace, He has given you His peace, HOLD ON TO IT, don’t give it away by reacting to what they do or say. Keep Your Peace today.

“Personal to be Effective”

Thought for Today: Personal to be Effective

There is a strange move in the body of Christ approaching. Whenever God does anything, the enemy does something to prevent the move of God from going forth. God is revealing Himself through many of His sons and daughters.

You are beginning to hear unspoken truths that are opening the eyes of your understanding of who God is. You are beginning to see the love of God through the sons and the daughters of the most-high God. You are beginning to see the power of God through men and women that serve God with all their heart, mind and soul.

Since the devil cannot stop the move of God, he has begun an attempt to convince those who are seeing God move through His servants to be like them or try to get what they have.

You see that powerful woman of prayer and you now want to pray like her. You see that powerful man of God speak the word of God and you want to speak like him. You see this person serving with passion and love and you want to be like them. You see that person reading the word, knowing the word, and speaking the word boldly, and you want to be like them.

I don’t know who I am talking to, but if you try to be like them all you are going to do is set yourself up to fail. It’s not the person that you are admiring, it’s not the person that you are seeing all these wonderful things in their lives, but it is Christ in them that you are attracted to.  Jesus said it this way “If I be lifted up from the earth, I (Jesus the Christ) will draw all men unto me” (John 12:32). They have a personal relationship with God the Father, through God the Son, by God the Holy Spirit.

You are not made in the image of your pastor and you are not made in the image of that great woman or man of God. God said “Let us make man in our image after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and fowl of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So, God created man in his own image in the image of God created he him male and female” (Genesis 1:26-27).

Listen to me, the reason the devil would rather you try to be like that great man of God or that great woman of God in your life is to distract you from having your own PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with God.

For the word of God says, “Looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2). It’s not the man, it’s not the woman, it’s the Christ in them that you are attracted to. You must not desire to be like them, you must desire to have your own personal relationship with God like they have their own personal relationship with God.

For it is written: “I will love thee, O LORD MY strength. The LORD is MY rock and MY fortress, and MY deliverer, MY GOD, MY strength in whom I will trust, MY salvation, and MY high tower. I will call upon the LORD who is worth to be praised so shall I be saved from MINE enemies (Psalms 18:1-3).

If you want to change your life and the lives of those around you, make your relationship with God personal. And know this truth, although your relationship with God is personal it could never be private. When you have a personal relationship with God not only will you know it but the world around you will know it as well.

“Why Should You”

Thought for Today: Why Should You

You have made the decision to do your best to follow God’s word. You understand this truth that you are not perfect but that does not stop you from striving for perfection because the word of God says, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48).

God has granted you the peace that surpasses all understanding, and you need to know that the peace of God is not about being free from any trials or tribulations. God’s word does not say you will never have problems but, as a matter of fact, Jesus explains why He has given you His peace in John 16:33 when He says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye SHALL HAVE TRIBULATION but be of good cheer I have overcome the world.”

You see, the peace of God is freedom from disturbance. “What does that mean, Pastor Erick?” That means that you will not allow nothing or no one to disturb your oneness with God.  Because when you stay one with God it assures you that God is in control no matter what. As it is written, “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us (you), who can be against us (you)” (Romans 8:31).

So, the enemy has to lure you down out of your relationship with God so that they would have a chance to do as they please in your life.

The joy of the Lord is your strength, according to Nehemiah 8:10, but the enemy uses people, situations, and circumstances to lure you down to their level so that you can give your joy away to receive the anger and frustration that they have.  You might not like what I am about to say but the enemy cannot take your joy away from you, you choose to give it away when you react to their words or deeds.

WHY SHOULD YOU come down to their level? The word of God says “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might” (Ephesians 6:10). But the world, your flesh (feelings and emotions), and the enemy tells you that you are not strong enough to do this or do that. My question to you is “WHY SHOULD YOU come down to their level?”

The word of God says, “God hath NOT given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). But the enemy is saying “if that were me, I would be terrified of this, scared of that.” Again, I ask you “WHY SHOULD YOU come down to their level?”

Listen to me, God is doing a great work in you, and you need to be confident of this very thing, that “HE (which is God) which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6).

I don’t know who I am talking to but WHY SHOULD YOU step down from allowing the Hand of God to continue to mold you into the image of Christ? The world, your flesh, and the devil only want to lure you out of your relationship with God so that they can simply cause you trouble.

For it is written, “That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me saying, come let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono (which is lower than where you are currently working). But they thought to do me mischief. And I sent messengers unto them saying, I AM DOING A GREAT WORK, SO WHY SHOULD THE WORK CEASE WHILST I LEAVE IT AND COMMETH DOWN TO YOU?” (Nehemiah 6:2-3).

Don’t be lured out of your relationship with God by reacting to what people are doing or saying. They just want you to come down to their level so that they can have their way in your life.  Stay one with God by living according to His word and standard.

Be Blessed
