Thought for Today: UNTIE MY HANDS

There is something that you are believing God to do for you. You know that God can do anything, but yet you are still struggling in your faith. And you wonder why it is so hard for you to believe that God will do this.

And the Holy Spirit of God says to you, “The reason that you are struggling with Me doing this one thing is because you have a preconceived idea of how you think I am going to answer your request. And this hidden mindset prevents Me from being who I AM.”

God is saying to you “UNTIE MY HANDS, it’s rare that I will ever answer your prayers how you thought I should. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” saith the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9). UNTIE MY HANDS

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:9). UNTIE MY HANDS

“Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalms 46:10). UNTIE MY HANDS.

“Ah LORD GOD! Behold thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and THERE IS NOTHING TOO HARD FOR THEE” (Jeremiah 32:17). UNTIE MY HANDS.

By you UNTYING THE HANDS OF GOD you allow God to be God. Your preconceived ideas of how you think God will answer your prayers ties up the hands of God. And God is saying to you “UNTIE MY HANDS.”

You may be asking, “How do I UNTIE GODS’ HANDS, Pastor Erick? How do I change the way that I think God is going to answer my prayers?” I am going to give you the knife that will cut the ropes that has your mind tied up on how you think God is going to answer your prayers.

“What do you mean you don’t know, Pastor Erick?” What I am saying to you is this, when the thoughts of how you think God is going to answer your prayers come to mind, you need to stop right where you are and say “I DON’T KNOW.” I don’t know HOW God is going to show up, I don’t know WHEN God is going to show up, I don’t know WHO or WHAT God will use to answer my prayers. I just trust Him to be God.

When you have the I DON’T KNOW mindset, this unties the hands of God and allows God to be God how He sees fit. It will allow God to do ALL HIS PLEASURE as seen in Isaiah 46:10.

For it is written, “And Moses said the people among whom I am are six hundred thousand footman, and thou (You, oh Lord) said I will give them flesh that they may eat a whole month. Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them to suffice them (is this how you are going to answer our prayers) And the Lord said unto Moses IS THE LORDS HAND WAXED SHORT? (UNTIE MY HANDS) THOU SHALT SEE NOW WHETHER MY WORD SHALL COME TO PASS UNTO THEE OR NOT” (Numbers 11:21-23).

The last thing the enemy of your soul wants to hear come out of your mouth is I DON’T KNOW how God is going to be God, simply because that mindset UNTIES THE HANDS OF GOD and allows God to show up how He sees fit. Grab the knife of I DON’T KNOW today, which will UNTIE THE HANDS OF GOD, and watch the glory of God blow you up.

“Just Let God”

Thought for Today: JUST LET GOD

There is something that someone did or said that has you all messed up and the problem is not just what they did or what they said, it’s who they are that has you messed up.

You can’t believe he did that, or you can’t believe she said that. And all you want to do is confront them and ask them why. Why would they do that, knowing that it would hurt you? Why would they say that, knowing that what they said would get you in trouble?

You just can’t figure it out, and the Holy Spirit of God says to you, “the enemy has a tendency to use those that are close to you to lure you out of My will.”

The word of God says it this way, “As if a man (woman) did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house and leaned his (her) hand on the wall and a serpent bit him” (Amos 5:19). You see, it’s easy to just move on when it’s someone that you don’t know who says or does something. You let them move on simply because they don’t know you and you don’t know them.

The word of God says, “Faithful are the wounds of a friend but the kiss of an enemy are deceitful” (Proverbs 27:6). This just means it’s easier to forgive an enemy than a friend.

You have the mind to go tell them about themselves, you have the mind to confront them and give them a piece of your mind, but the Holy Spirit of God is saying to you right now, “sometimes you just have to let Me deal with them.” For the word of God says, “A fool uttereth all his mind but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards” (Proverbs 29:11).

The word of God says “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Yes, there will be times when you will arise and speak for yourself. There will be times when you defend yourself, there will be times when you will confront the person that the enemy used to do you wrong.

I don’t know who I am talking to but you need to know, this is not one of those times. JUST LET GOD deal with them on this matter. This will save you stress; this will close the door on unnecessary arguments, this will close the door of what if’s and accusations. In other words, it disarms and cancels the plans that the enemy had for you.

For it is written, “They also that seek after my life lay snares for me; and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things and imagine deceits all day long. But I was as a deaf man, heard (I just acted like I didn’t hear it) and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth (I didn’t say nothing). Thus I was a man (woman)  that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs (I didn’t give them nothing to fight with). For in thee O LORD do I hope, thou wilt hear O LORD my God” (Proverbs 38:12-15).

If you JUST LET GOD deal with that person in this matter, you will keep your peace and they will walk away mad, not you.

“A Hard Truth”

Thought for Today: A HARD TRUTH

There is someone in your life that you have been praying about for a long time. However, they have made up in their mind, heart, and soul that they are not changing for anything or nobody. They are who they are, and you can accept them or reject them, but whatever your decision is they will not change.

I know in your heart and mind you may be thinking “If God can change me, He can change anybody.” And so, you continue to toil in prayer for them, not wanting to give up on them.

I know you may find this very hard to believe but there are many people in the world, and in your life, who will simply reject the word of God. For the word of God says, “Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart” (Ephesians 4:18).

God is all-knowing and all-seeing, He knows who will accept the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ, and He knows who will reject Jesus Christ as the Son of the living God.

Jesus Christ, Himself, said, “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, that one that judgeth him; the word that I have spoken the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:48). You have been going back and forth about this one person that you have been praying for and because your heart is so big you just cannot give up on this person; you will continue to pray even though you know in your heart they will not change. I need you to go before the Lord and ask God this question, “Lord, will this person ever change?” For the word of God says, “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, THE LORD KNOWETH THEM THAT ARE HIS. And let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Timothy 2:19).

Yes, God is all-powerful, and there is nothing that God cannot do, but God will not make a person accept who He is. For the word of God says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man (woman) hear my voice, and open the door, I will come into him (her) and will sup with him (her) and he (she) with me” (Revelation 3:20).

I know this is a hard truth to accept but the truth of the matter is everybody will not accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Jesus, Himself, said, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me” (Matthew 15:8).

Jesus said again in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not every one that saith unto me, LORD, LORD, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say unto me, in that day LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then I WILL PROFESS UNTO THEM, I NEVER KNEW YOU DEPART FROM ME YE THAT WORK INIQUITY.”

Get with God and ask Him if the person you are praying for will ever change. I know this is A HARD TRUTH, but there are many people in the world, and in your life, who will not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior no matter how hard you pray.

For it is written, “Then said the Lord unto me, PRAY NOT FOR THIS PEOPLE FOR THEIR GOOD. When they fast, I will not hear their cry, and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I WILL NOT ACCEPT THEM; but I will consume them by the sword and by the famine and by the pestilence” (Jeremiah 14:11-12).

Get with the Father and ask God “Will this person ever change?” God knows the beginning from the End, and THE HARD TRUTH is some people will not change no matter what, and God will never make a person accept who He is.

I know this is not the normal encouraging thought for today but it’s the truth, and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

“Your Precious Gift from God”

Thought for Today: Your Precious Gift from God

There are many things that the world, your flesh, and especially the devil want to take from you. They want to rob you of your peace, joy, happiness, strength, purpose, and destiny.

But there is one thing that the enemy secretly desires and will use all the tricks, strategies, plots, and plans to get it. The one thing that the enemy secretly desires is your soul. Jesus said “For what is a man (woman) profited, if he (she) gains the whole world, and lose his (her) own soul? Or what shall a man (woman) give in exchange for his (her) soul” (Matthew 16:26).

You see, the soul of a man and the soul of a woman is a precious gift from God. Your soul is where your decision-making capabilities lay. Whatever influences your soul also controls your spirit and the very essence of who you are.

The devil wants more than to possess (have complete power over) your soul. If the devil can have complete power over your soul (your decision-making abilities), he can get you to do and say whatever he wants.

For the one who is in control of your soul will influence your spirit. It’s not just the devil that is after your soul. The world is after your soul (your decision-making abilities) as well,  if they can take over your soul then the world can get you to act just like them, talk just like them, and live just like them.

For the word of God says, “Be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2).

If the devil or the world ain’t after your soul, your flesh (feelings and/or emotions) will look to have power over your soul (your decision-making abilities). For the word of God says, “This I say then walk (live your life) in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh (feeling and/or emotions) lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary one to the other so that ye cannot do the things that ye would” (Galatians 5:16-17).

I don’t know who I am talking to, but the Holy Spirit of God says to you, your soul does not belong to the world, your soul does not belong to your flesh, and your soul definitely doesn’t belong to the devil.

He created your soul, “And the LORD GOD formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7). Your soul does not belong to the world your flesh or the devil for the word of God says “Behold ALL SOULS ARE MINE as the soul of the father so also the soul of the son is mine; the soul that sinneth (that is separated from me says the Lord) it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:4).

God says to you today, “I am the lover of your soul. I want to be the one to influence your soul, to give directions to your spirit to live an amazing life.” Stop for just a second and think about what influences your decision-making abilities (your soul). Does fear, frustration, anger, unbelief, doubt, anxiety, anger, or hopelessness influence your decision-making abilities?

For it is written, “Unto thee O LORD do I lift up MY SOUL. O my God I trust in thee; let me not be ashamed let not mine enemies’ triumph over me” (Psalms 25:1-2).

YOUR SOUL is a precious gift from God, He wants to be the one to influence your decision-making ability to live the life that He has planned for you, not the life the world, your flesh, or the devil has planned for you. Place your precious gift (your soul) into God’s hands and watch your life change forever.
