“Nothing Common About You”

Thought for Today: Nothing Common About You

In the coming days the devil knows that there is nothing that he can do about your faith in the Lord God Almighty. You have seen God react, respond, and remove obstacles out of your life that would have caused so many others to give up or give in. Your faith in God is growing every day.

The more you read His word, the more faith you have in Him to accomplish His word. The more you pray, the more you trust that still small voice that gives you direction and instructions throughout the day. And the more you worship God in spirit and in truth, the more you sense His presence around you in your everyday living.

Because of your growth in your relationship with the Lord, the devil will have to change up his strategy when he comes at you. Since he cannot convince you that God is not who He say He is anymore, the next strategy of hell is to convince you that you are just like everybody else.

You will begin to hear those close to you whispering “She thinks she special, or, he thinks he is all that.” You will begin to hear people say “Who do she think she is? Or, who does he think he is?” You will begin to hear this often, “You aren’t better than any of us, you are just like everybody else.”

I say to you my brothers and sisters, as a child of the most high God you need to know this truth: THERE AIN’T NOTHING COMMON ABOUT YOU.  The word of God says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man (woman) be in Christ, he (she) is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.”

When you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, God took His ‘Super’ and fused it with your ‘Natural’ giving you the ability to live a supernatural life. The reason why the enemy wants you to believe that you are just like everybody else is because, as a child of God, no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

As a child of God, you have power over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). Normal people don’t have that kind of power. As a child of God, you have the fulness of who God is; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit dwelling in you. Jesus said “If a man (woman) love me, he (she) will keep my words; and my Father will love him (her) and WE WILL COME UNTO him (her) and MAKE OUR ABODE with him (her)” (John 14:23).

How in the hallelujah can you be just like everybody else when you have the all-knowing, all-seeing, everywhere at all times, all-powerful God dwelling in you? THERE IS NOTHING COMMON ABOUT YOU. The devil is a liar, you are not just like everybody else.

This is what Jesus, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords prayed for you in John 17:15-17, “I pray not that thou shouldest take them (this means you) out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them (set them apart) through thy truth; thy word is truth.”

If you ever grab ahold of the truth that, as a child of God, THERE IS NOTHING COMMON ABOUT YOU, you will begin to walk in the power and the authority of the most high God. The devil can’t come at you with fear tactics like he does to everybody else because God does not give you a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). THERE IS NOTHING COMMON ABOUT YOU.

The devil can’t hold you back with lies like he does everybody else because Jesus said, “And you shall know the truth and the truth shall MAKE you free” (John 8:32). THERE IS NOTHING COMMON ABOUT YOU.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are the works that God did in you, is doing in you, and will do in you every day of your life (Psalm 139:14). The world, your flesh, and the devil can’t put you in a box like everybody else. The enemy can’t hold you down and make you believe that you are no different than those around you. They can’t put you in a common category with everybody else.

For it is written, “And they laid their hands on the apostles and PUT THEM IN THE COMMON PRISON. But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors and brought them forth and said ‘Go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life’” (Acts 5:18-20).

Get up daughter of Zion, arise son of the most high God. Grab the word of God, speak the word of God,  live your life according to the word of God, and know that THERE AIN’T NOTHING COMMON ABOUT YOU.

Be Blessed

“They Will Notice”

Thought for Today: They Will Notice

In these last days you are going to begin to hear a word of division. The enemy will begin to put thoughts in the mind of many believers just who is truly a child of God. This strategy is not to stop the children of God from being who they are called to be. This strategy is to prevent the light of God from spreading past the life of the children of God.

If the enemy can get you to question if this person or that person is a child of God, he will be able to make you the decision maker on who the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ should shine on through you.

If the devil is not attempting to prevent your light from shining so that others can see the glory of God through the life you live, the enemy of your soul will begin to question if you are a child of God yourself.  If the devil can get you to begin doubting your salvation, doubting the changes that God is and has already done in your life, he can lure you into stepping out of the will of God in and for your life.

There is a fear coming into this land, a strategy from hell. If the enemy can get you to start second guessing who should and should not see the love of God through you, if they enemy of your soul can get you to question rather you are a child of God or not, it will open the door for fear to come in and not only torment you, but chain you to the sins of your past.

Listen to me, do not fall into the trap of deciding who should or should not receive anything of the kingdom of God through you. It is not your decision. For the word of God says in 1 Timothy 2:1-6 “I exhort therefore, that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for ALL MEN (all humanity) for kings and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior. WHO WILL HAVE ALL MEN TO BE SAVED AND TO COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF TRUTH”?

You must let God choose who He wants to share His peace, His grace, His mercy, His kindness, His gentleness, His provision, His protection, and most of all His love through you.

As far as the world, your flesh, and the devil questioning if you are truly a child of God, I would say to you my brother, I say to you, my sister, if you spend time in the word THEY WILL NOTICE. If you spend time in prayer, THEY WILL NOTICE, if you spend time worshipping God in spirit and in truth, THEY WILL NOTICE.

Even if they are not a believer, even if they don’t know the word of God, even if they don’t go to church, even if they are atheist; if you spend time in the word that means you spent time with JESUS. If you spent time in prayer that means you spent time with JESUS. And if you spent time worshipping God in spirit and in truth you spent time with JESUS.

The more time you spend with JESUS the more those around you WILL TAKE NOTICE. For the word of God says, “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons (daughters) of God” (Romans 8:19).

God wants to reveal who He is through you (YES YOU) and you cannot fall into the trap of the devil questioning who is, or who is not a believer. It does not matter if they are a believer or not what matters is that the light and the love of God shines through you to anyone around you.

It is not for you to prove to anybody, did you hear me? It is not for you to prove to ANYBODY that you are a child of the most high God. You just keep spending time with Jesus reading the word of God, you just keep spending time with Jesus in prayer, and you just keep spending time in the presence of Lord in worshiping Him in spirit and in truth and I say to you my brother, I say to you my sister THEY WILL TAKE NOTICE that you are  one with the Lord and the Lord is one with you.

For it is written “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled AND THEY TOOK KNOWLEDGE OF THEM, THAT THEY HAD BEEN WITH JESUS” (Acts 4:13).

Let God arise in your life today and let the enemies be scattered for THEY WILL NOTICE just how much time you spend with Jesus. Be Blessed

“Threatened by the Enemy”

Thought for Today: Threatened by the Enemy

As you grow closer to God, the enemy of your soul will begin to hurl all kinds of threats your way. The enemy of your soul will use anything, anyone, and any situation he can to threaten you to open the door of your mind so that fear can come and take over your heart, mind, and soul.

You may be asking, “Why me? I am just trying to get to know God better and live a life that is pleasing to God. I am not bothering anyone, I am not even trying to change anyone’s life, I am just working on me to be a better person.”

And the Spirit of the Lord says to you, “Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you” (John 15:16).

The closer you get to Jesus the more you become like Him. This is what is meant in Romans 8:29 “For whom he did foreknow, He (God Himself) also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren”.

You see the more you become like Jesus the more you become a threat to the kingdom of darkness. And so, to prevent you from becoming more like Jesus the enemy hurls all these threats at you hoping that you will be overwhelmed by the threat of something bad happing to prevent you from to looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of your faith.

You may be thinking “How is me getting to know Jesus a threat to the devil, Pastor Erick?” This is why the enemy is hoping that you will be overwhelmed by their threats. 1 John 3:8 says, “He that committeth (continues to live in) sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. (Listen to this) FOR THIS PURPOSE THE SON OF GOD WAS MANIFESTED THAT HE MIGHT DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL.”

You see, when you get closer to Jesus Christ the more you begin to reflect the image of who Christ is, and the more Christ is reflected in your life the bigger the threat you become to the devil. Because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

Listen to me, don’t be overwhelmed by the threats of the enemy. When the enemy begins to threaten you the first thing you need to do is stop right where the threats are being hurled at you and praise God. “Why should that be the first thing I do, Pastor Erick? Shouldn’t I rebuke the devil, shouldn’t I fight the enemy or something?”

No! There are two reasons that you should praise God first before pulling out your sword (the word of God) and busting the devil in his mouth. One of the reasons why you should praise God first is simply because the devil is hurling threats your way. “Why do I need to praise God for that, Pastor Erick?” Because Matthew 12:26 says, “And if satan cast out satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?” The devil isn’t going after anyone who he already controls.  And the second reason you should just begin praising God is this, Psalm 22:3, “But thou art holy that inhabitest the praise of Israel (all his children).”

You see, when you begin to praise and worship God, the Holy Spirit of God begins to arise from the throne of your heart. “That’s all well and good, but what does that have to do with the devil threating me and my family, Pastor Erick?”

Here, Psalm 68:1-2 says, “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered; let them also that hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them (the enemies of God) away; as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.”

When you praise God the Holy Spirit of God arises within you, and the enemy will take notice, and when you speak the word of God, the power of the Holy Spirit will be behind the spoken word of God and the enemy of your soul will have to retreat from hurling threats at you.

The enemy has selected you today to threaten everything about your life, but you were chosen by God from the beginning to live an amazing life. Don’t allow fear to overwhelm you by the threats of the enemy for it is written:

“And now LORD behold THEIR THREATENINGS and grant unto thy servants that with ALL BOLDNESS THEY MAY SPEAK THY WORD, by stretching forth thine hand (Lord God Almighty) and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of the Holy Child Jesus” (Acts 4:29-31).

Praise God when the enemy threatens any area of your life, then speak what the word of God says about that situation and watch God arise and your enemy be scattered.

Be Blessed

” In the footsteps of Jesus”

Thought for Today: In the footsteps of Jesus

There are many who are doing all they can to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Trying to live right, trying to do right, and trying the be right. As a matter of fact, you are trying to follow the pattern of life that Jesus lived for yourself. You are trying to read the Word of God because you know that God’s word will set you apart from everybody else in the world, as Jesus said in John 17:17, “Sanctify them (set them apart) through thy truth; thy word is truth.”

You want to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, so you pray as often as you can simply because Jesus said “Men (women) are always to pray, and not to faint” (Luke 18:1). You do your best to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Jesus said “God is a Spirit; and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).

You do your best to follow in the footsteps of Jesus by going to church because the word of God says, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; exhorting one another and so much the more as ye see the day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25).

But there is a step in life that Jesus took that very few want to take or are willing to take. Jesus took a step in one direction that very few will choose to follow. This step is found in John 15:13, which says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man (women) lay down his life for his friends.” Very few are willing to take that step for the love of God.

Many will say that they love God, but very few are willing to give up their life for God. Your life is what you want, your cars, your homes, your clothes, your job, your house, your way of thinking, your way of talking, your way of acting, your way of living, your kids, your wife, your husband, your sisters and brothers, and coworkers alike. The things that you want to do, the places you want to go, that is your life. Are you willing to take the step that Jesus took for the Love of God?

Are you really willing to take the step that Jesus took and give all that up to follow Him?  Jesus said in Luke 14:26, “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sister, yea and HIS (HER) OWN LIFE ALSO, he (she) cannot be my disciple.”

The reason why you are struggling to live the life that Jesus lived on the face of this earth is simple because you are not willing to take that one step that Jesus took, you are not willing to give up your life that you know and love.

Please don’t think I am just telling you this from something I read. There was a time in my life where my wife and I at the time just adopted two children, had a nice job, had a nice home, had a great ministry preaching at nursing homes, and was a youth pastor. And the Father said to me “Erick are you willing to take the steps that my Son took, do you love me enough to give up your life?”

And God gave me this scripture and said “Here, you must take this step”, found in Matthew 16:25 which says, “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” It was the hardest step that I ever had to take in my life.

I took that step, and I told my kids that I love God more than them, they were too young to understand what I was saying. I told my wife at that time, you can no longer be first in my life, I am giving my life to the Lord, and I sat down and said “God I give you my kids, all my material things, I give you the way I think, the way I act, the way I talk, I give you the desires that I wanted out of life. I give you, my life”. I lost my wife at that time, she divorced me. I lost my kids; she was awarded the kids. I lost the Townhome we lived in, I lost my job, I lost the nursing ministry that I had, I lost the position as a youth pastor, I even had to move from the church I accepted my calling in. I lost everything.

I took the step that Jesus took and gave my life for the love of God. In return God gave me an amazing wife, my kids adore me, I now own a home, two cars, I have a great job, and a ministry at Life Church teaching the Word of God to many.

I say unto you my brother, I say unto you my sister, if you truly love God take that one step that Jesus took, sit down and go over all that you consider that is your life and take that step to give up your life so that God can give you the life that He has for you.

For it is written “So when Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said IT IS FINISHED AND HE BOWED HIS HEAD AND GAVE UP THE GHOST” (John 19:30).

They did not take Jesus’ life, He gave up His life to show you just how much He loves you. Are you willing to take the same step that Jesus did to show Him just how much you love Him? Take that step and watch your life change forever.

Be Blessed
