“Last Resort”

Thought for Today: Last Resort

Every day that you wake up you must have a heart to live a life that is pleasing to God. This does not mean that you will live a perfect life or that every day will be a day of bliss. Religion has lied to many believers in the Lord God Almighty, telling them that once they are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ everything will be good and pleasant.; There will be no trials, no tribulations, no heartaches, and no pains. This is a lie from the pits of hell. We are imperfect people living in an imperfect world. The word of God says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

The struggle that so many of us have in this life is that we leave prayer (communicating with God) as a LAST RESORT. You will hear it come out of the mouth of many believers that, in the midst of trials, they will say “ALL I HAVE LEFT NOW IS PRAYER,” or, “ALL I CAN DO NOW IS PRAY.”

We try everything else first. We try to fix things ourselves, and when we can’t fix it ourselves, we go to momma, or daddy, or granny, or grandpa. When that doesn’t work, we go to the pastor, the preacher, the prophet, or the man/woman of God. And when that doesn’t work, we make the statement “ALL I CAN DO NOW IS PRAY.”

I don’t know who I am talking to but the Holy Spirit of God says to you today that you can save yourself so much anguish, pain and suffering if you would stop making Him your LAST RESORT.

I speak this truth to you; you cannot avoid sin. What I mean by that is, sin will always be right there waiting for the perfect opportunity to overtake you. The word of God says it this way, “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? But if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door and unto thee shall be his desire, AND THOU SHALT RULE OVER HIM” (Genesis 4:7).

Listen to me, as long as you are living in this fleshly body the world, your flesh, and especially the devil is sitting there waiting for you to fall and fail, because the minute you do it is a green light for them to attack to cause you to sin and to keep you in sin. If that’s not enough, they will convince you that you can get yourself out of the sin or temptation to continue in the sin. Then they will tell you to go to momma or daddy because maybe they can help you. They may not want you to go to the pastor or preacher because of the chance they may lead you to talk to the Lord about it, but they will take the chance on you talking to them rather than God.

Listen to me, the last thing the enemy wants you to do is talk to God first about whatever it is you are going through. They would rather you go to everything and everybody else first before going to God.

Don’t get me wrong, God may use momma, daddy, granny, grandpa, preachers, prophets, or pastors, but you don’t go to them first and leave God as your last resort. Go to God first and if He uses any of the above then hallelujah!

But go to God first, because you will find that He will save you from so much trouble when you don’t use Him as your last resort.

For it is written, “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished” (2 Peter 2:9).

When the world, your flesh, and the devil come at you, don’t wait until the last resort to pray; seek His face right then and there and you will be surprised by how many battles you will avoid in your life, because God already knows how to pull you out of the temptation.

Be Blessed
