“Run With This”

Thought for Today: Run With This
You have been given a new life. This means you have been placed on a new course in life, a life where you are heading to a new destination. As you begin to run in this race called life there is one thing that you need to run with.
First and foremost, you must run this race (live this life) with God and not for God. He is right there giving you instruction through the voice of the Holy Spirit telling you when to pick up the pace, telling you when to slow down, telling you when to stay in the current position you are holding.
This is what He meant in Matthew 28:20, saying, “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
God has a pace in life just for you. Yes, there will be some that will be moving at a faster pace in their life with God than you are, but that does not make them any better than you.
There will be some that are running at a slower pace in life, but that does not make you any better than them. For the word of God says that “the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; BUT TIME AND CHANCE HAPPENETH TO THEM ALL” (Ecclesiastes 9:11).
You will lose your place in the will of God when you are looking at the race that someone else is running. Just because God gave them the gift to remember scripture does not place them in any better position with God than you. Just because they can pray with eloquent words does not put them in any better position with God than you.
Stop looking at what someone else is doing in and for the kingdom of God and begin to look to God and find out where He has positioned you in this race called life.
The reason the church is not flourishing like it did in the bible days is because many of God’s children are attempting to be placed in a position in the church, instead of focusing on their position with the Father. God knows where He wants you, God knows the gifts that He has given you, God knows when those gifts will be used.
You have been placed in a new race (you have been given a new life) and this race (your life) is not a sprint, you are going to have to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit of God when He tells you to slow down, keep your position (stay right where you are), or move ahead (leave that position or place you are currently in).
The enemy will attempt to give you his opinion and/or instructions, and the Holy Spirit of God says to you that you only have need of one thing while running this new race (living this new life). The one thing that you need to run this race (live this new life) is PATIENCE.
For it is written, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily bester us (put down everything that prevent us from moving in God’s way of doing things in and for our lives) and let us RUN WITH PATIENCE the race that is set before us (live our lives according to the instructions God gives each one of us)” (Hebrews 12:1).
Don’t let the world, the flesh, or the devil push you into a place or position in life that was not meant for you. Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart.
