“Seeing In The Dark
”

As this world gets darker and darker many will begin to struggle even more than ever to see the right way to live in this world. It will get harder and harder to see the right way to treat others. It will get harder and harder to see how to do right by others because of the darkness approaching in these last days. Because of the darkness many will not be able to see how they will make it, how they will survive, or how they will they be able to go on with a normal life anymore. So many people are saying, “I do not see how me, or my love ones can get over this sickness.” As a matter of fact, someone reading this Thought of the Day right now is saying, “I am finding it harder and harder to see how this family is going to stay together.” Someone is saying, “I do not see how my marriage is going to make it,” or “I cannot see how these bills are going to get paid.” Darkness has overtaken many in these last days. It is as if the part of Psalm 23 that says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, . . .” has come to pass in your life. You cannot see anything, and fear is overwhelming you. Depression has taken over you, and you begin to reach for things (ideas, ways, and plans) in the dark, trying to figure out what you are going to do.

Listen to me! As you are walking through this valley of the shadow of death, I come by to encourage you it is just a shadow. And you need to know this. The shadow of a dog has never bitten anybody. You are a child of the Most High God. The internal switch you have within you will shed the light on any situation you are in. The switch is the Word of God, which says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105) You are a child of God. Pray (communicate with the Father), telling him the truth of your heart, and then sit down and listen. Communication takes a speaker and a hearer, and you cannot hear if you are doing all the talking. God will shed light on whatever situation you are in. For the Word of God says, “The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: the Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26 [emphasis added])

You are a joint heir to the throne of God. When you go to the Word of God, you turn on the light that pierces the darkness. “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” (Isaiah 60:1) If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you have an internal light switch which will show this world, and the world around you, that you are not like everybody else. You do not have to reach in darkness trying to feel your way through the situation. For the Word of God says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1) As you begin to turn on this light (by speaking the Word of God), there are going to be those around you who will think you have lost your mind. They will think you are a religious nut case. Do not let them bother you. The Word of God says, “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” (John 1:5 )

There are going to be those around you who will try to convince you to do things another way. Let me put this truth in your spirit. The Word of God says, “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20) If you confess Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, the Holy Spirit of God says to you today, “. . . upon this rock (upon this confession) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18 [emphasis added]) For it is written:

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” (Isaiah 9:2)

Grab the Word of God. Say what God says about the situation. Watch God show you that He is God, and there is none like him.

Be Blessed!
