“Serve God Like They Serve God”

Thought for Today: Serve God Like They Serve God

In this season, you will begin to see people flooding back to the church; looking for truth, looking for the way, looking for a new life, looking for joy, and looking for peace.

As the church begins to fill, you will see many people move into certain positions to serve God. Many will serve God from a pure heart out of their love for God. But there will be some who will creep into the church to serve God for different reasons.

I want to warn you of the strategies of hell; remember, with every great move of God there will be great opposition. The enemy will strategically plant some in every church to have the mindset to serve God a certain way. They will try to make you feel like your worship is wrong, your praise is wrong, and the way you read the bible is wrong all because you do not do those things like them.

The Word of God says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12). That is the difference between being a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and other religions. Religion will attempt to make your relationship with God like everybody else’s relationship with God. I call it a cookie cutter faith, where everybody looks and sounds alike.

But, the Word of God says in 1 Corinthians 12:18-25, “But now God hath set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee; nor again the head to the feet, I have no deed of you. Nay much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble are necessary. And those members of the body which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need; but God hat tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked. That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for the other.”

What I am trying to tell you is, don’t get caught up in the strategies of hell when a church member tells you that you have to serve God how they are serving God. You have a personal relationship with God and, sure, some things that others do may help you, but when they try to make you have the same relationship as they have with God, a red flag should go up in your spirit.

There is a difference between sharing your relationship with God with others and trying to make others serve God how you serve God.  You have a personal relationship with God the Father, through God the Son, by God the Holy Spirit. Your relationship with God will be different from every other human being in the world simply because there is only one you.

There may be some similarities between your relationship with God and those around you, but make no mistake about it, no one, and I mean no one, should be able to make you SERVE GOD HOW THEY SERVE GOD.

For it is written, “Now it came to pass, as they went that he (Jesus) entered into a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much WITH SERVING and came to him (Jesus) and said ‘Lord dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore that she help me (SERVE LIKE I SERVE).’ And Jesus answered and said unto her, ‘Martha, Martha thou art careful and troubled about many things. But one thing is needful and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her’.”

Don’t get caught up in the schemes of religion that say you have to serve God how everybody else serves God. And don’t let the devil beat you up because you are different from everybody else in the church. You are fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are the works that God has done in you. Know this, and your soul will be well with God. Serve God with all your heart, mind, and soul and let God take care of the rest.

Be Blessed
