“Tell Him So He Can Show You”

One of the greatest deceptions the enemy of the church has placed in the body of Christ which prevents many of God’s children from getting closer to Him is this lie: You cannot tell God that. Many have the mindset if you tell God what you said or did, He will punish you. Not understanding that when you attempt to keep things from God, you close up areas of your heart. And as those areas of your heart stay closed, darkness not only overwhelms you, but it also opens the door for fear, frustration, confusion, hopelessness, unbelief, and many things that come from the kingdom of darkness. The Word of God says, “. . . Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, . . .” (Matthew 22:37) How can you love God from an area of your heart  you are attempting to keep from him? The last thing the world, your flesh, and especially, the devil want you to do is go to God and tell him what you did or what you said. Why, Pastor Erick? How is me telling God all my issues, sins, and failures going to affect my enemies? If anything, it will give them more to work with in my opinion.

Here, let me put a couple of pieces of truth in your spirit. The Word of God says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we (this means you, too) may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16 [emphasis added]) You see, the reason why you can come boldly to the throne of grace is the fact you know you serve an all knowing, all seeing, everywhere at all times God. There is nothing you can say to surprise him. There is nothing you can do to catch him off guard. The reason why the enemy of your soul wants you to hide what you did or said is because when you go to God there will be three things waiting for you at the throne of God: Mercy, Grace, and Help.

This is not human mercy, human grace, nor human help. Oh, no my brother; oh, no my sister! This is divine Mercy, divine Grace, and divine Help. And there is nothing in the world like it. His Grace will pick you up. His Mercy will turn you around. And His Help will plant your feet on a solid ground. If you are not convinced to tell God all of your heart, put this in your spirit and have a taste. God said it this way. “Come Now (do not wait until darkness floods your heart about the matter), and let us (this means you and God) reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” (Isaiah 1:18 [emphasis added])

You see, when you go to God and are honest with Him, tell Him how you feel, what you did, and what you said. The enemy, though, really does not want you to tell God you are mad. What, Pastor Erick? I cannot tell God I am mad at Him. Listen to me! If you do not tell God the truth and you are mad at Him, the anger will build up in your heart. It will begin to spread to other areas of your heart which will shut down from talking to God as well. Telling God the truth of your heart – no matter how ugly – releases the things you did or said to Him. He, in return, will show you and give you His ways of dealing with the situation. And you know what His Word says. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

No matter how ugly it is or how bad it sounds, get before God and tell him what you did or said. He already knows the matter anyway. But by you telling God, the door to the area of your heart is open. Let Him in to clean up the area of your heart. He will share with you His ways of dealing with the situation. For it is written:

I have declared my ways (I have told you all my heart Lord good and bad), and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes. Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wonderous works. (Psalm 119:26-27 [emphasis added])

When you are honest with God, telling him your whole heart no matter how ugly, the world, the flesh, and the devil will not have anything in which to torment you. Tell God the truth so He can show you the truth.

Be Blessed!
