“Telling Instead of Doing”

Thought for Today: Telling Instead of Doing

There is something in your life that needs to get done. It is something that you have tried to do on your own, but you just could not get it done.

You may need to move on from a certain person, and you have tried to move on, but you always seem to go right back.  You may need to forgive someone for what they have done to you, and you have tried to forgive them, but every time you even hear that person’s name you find yourself getting angry for no reason.

Maybe you are trying to get to know God better by reading His Word, but every time you try to read it, it does not make any sense to you. You are trying to pray, but it seems like your words are falling on deaf ears.

You know that you need to get something done, but your problem is that every time God tells you to do this one thing, you tell Him how you have tried before and it did not work. He keeps whispering in your ear to forgive them, and you reply “I have tried to forgive them, and I just can’t.”

He has told you to move on, and you keep TELLING God what you have already tried to do. God is telling you that there is a job that is waiting for you, and you keep telling God “I have tried to put out applications, but nobody is hiring.”

And the Holy Spirit of God says to you, “You have tried to do these things on your own, now I say unto you my daughter, I say unto you my son, try it now.” And you may ask, “Why try the same thing over and over again, when it did not work the first-time, Pastor Erick?”

And the Holy Spirit of God is saying to you today that “You have been doing it on your own, but this time you will be doing it with Me.” The world, your flesh, and the devil are telling you that what you are trying to do is impossible, and the Holy Spirit of God says to you today, “For with God nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1:37).

Your flesh is telling you that it’s impossible to forgive that person, or move on, or apply for that job, and instead of doing what God told you to do, you continue to tell Him what you have already tried to do, and that it did not work.

God says to you, “When you tried to forgive, you did it in your own power and that’s why it didn’t work. When you tried to leave, you did it in your own power and that’s why it didn’t work. When you put in that application, you did that on your own and that’s why it did not work.”

I say unto you my brothers and sisters, “Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might,” as spoken in Ephesians 6:10.

You have told the Lord what you have done. Now, if you do what He has told you to do, you will see a different result simply because His ways are not your ways, and His thoughts are not your thoughts.

Cry out to God, “Lord, help me forgive in the power of your might. Lord, I will move on with the power of your might. Lord, I will put this application in with the power of your might, and not mine.”

I assure you that, with God and the power of His might, you will see a totally different result that will blow your mind.  God has whispered instructions in your spirit to do it again. You need to stop telling God what you have already tried and take God at His word.

For It is written, “And He (Jesus) entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And He sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, LAUNCH OUT INTO THE DEEP, AND LET DOWN YOUR NETS FOR A DRAUGHT. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night and have taken nothing (told Him what they did): nevertheless AT THY WORD I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their nets brake” (Luke 5:3-6).

Stop telling God what you have tried and take Him at His word, you will see God move in a supernatural way that will not only bless you, but will also bless those around you.

Be Blessed
