“That’s Just God”

Thought for Today: That’s Just God

One of the things that the world, your flesh and the devil use against the whole body of Christ, including me, is the fact that many have lost the awe of Who God is. Knowingly and unknowingly, we have a tendency to take the knowledge of Who God is for granted. We get complacent to the truth on how He provides for us each and every day. For example, the food we eat. Yes, He provides money to provide food, but we forget just how awesome God is in how He brings that food to the stores.

For the word of God says, “He (God) causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man; that He (God) may bring forth food out of the earth. And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil maketh his face to shine and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart” (Psalms 104:1). But in our daily routine and our daily mindset THAT’S JUST GOD.

Yes, we thank God that you have money to pay your bills. But what we take for granted is Deuteronomy 8:18, “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy GOD; for it is He that giveth thee power (the ability) to get wealth.” God is the one that gave you the ability to have the strength, and the wisdom to know how to do a job that provides you with everything you need to earn money on the job that He has provided for you. But THAT’S JUST GOD.

When the church has lost the awe of who God is, what I am saying is the FEAR OF THE LORD is not a priority in the body of Christ like it was before. The church (this includes me and you) are more concerned about what man thinks rather than what God thinks. But the word of God says, “Let all the earth fear the LORD let all the inhabitants of the world stand IN AWE OF HIM” (Psalms 33:8).

Humanity has more fear of man who they can see, rather than the one who created man who they can’t see. I don’t know who I am talking to, but right now God has whispered in your ear to do something or say something that will make you look foolish. But the word of God says, “Be not wise in thine own eyes; FEAR THE LORD and depart from evil” (Proverbs 3:7).

When I say FEAR OF THE LORD, I am not talking about being scared or afraid of God. One of the Hebrew words for fear is YIRAH, this word means reverence, honor, respect, for Who God is. The reason why so many people are leaving the church is because the church does not FEAR THE LORD. The church is more concerned about filling seats and entertaining man, instead of reverencing who God is.

If someone asks you “How did you get there? How did you do this? How did you do that? How did you make it?” and your response is “Oh, that’s just God,” you have lost the fear of the Lord. There is no God like our God. He took the index of His finger and created seas, oceans and rivers. He not only created the stars but He flung them and hung them on nothing against the velvet of the night.

But you are so concerned about what man thinks and that thought process is how the enemy can walk into your life and do whatever he wants. For the word of God says, “The fear of man bringeth a snare but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be saved” (Proverbs 29:25).

I want you to take a moment and just think about the awesomeness of who God is. He gave you eyes to see; He gave you ears to hear; He gave you a tongue to speak, He gave you life, you can no longer have the THAT’S JUST GOD mentality. It does not honor God, it does not show God respect, and it does not show how much you love God and how much God loves you.

If it seems like nothing is going right in your life, the Holy Spirit of God is saying to you today FEAR ME, not be scared of Me, but be in awe of who I am, reverence Me, place Me above your needs, your fears, and above what man thinks. For I am not JUST GOD.

For it is written, “THE FEAR OF THE LORD (reverence who God is be in awe of God) TENDETH TO LIFE; and he/she that hat it (THE FEAR OF THE LORD) SHALL ABIDE SATISFIED he/she shall not be visited with evil” (Proverbs 19:23).

Reverence God in every area of your life. Put Him first and everything else will take care of itself. He is not JUST GOD, He is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

Be Blessed
