“The Agreement”

Thought for Today: THE AGREEMENT

As you continue to strive for a life that is pleasing to God, there are going to be times where you fail, fall, and outright sin against God. This is when the enemy attacks you the most. They begin to pour judgment, ridicule, mock, stress, hopelessness, unbelief, and condemnation at you for the sin you committed or the mistakes that you have made.

Many of the children of God struggle when they sin, struggle when they fail, and struggle when they fall short simply because they do not know the agreement that God has made with them once they became a child of God.

Right now, you are allowing something that you did or said beat you up and you are listening to the lie of the enemy. You are scared to talk to God because of what you have done. You don’t feel right reading the word of God right now, you don’t feel like you deserve to worship God, and you have no right to pray (communicate with God) because of what you have said or done.

Listen to me, the word of God says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:23). Your sin, your failure to obey, and your shortcomings in life will never surprise God.

The reason you are struggling is because you believed the lie of the devil which told you that you need to fix your mistakes, clean up your failures, or cleanse yourself of the sin that you committed before you will be able to continue your relationship with God.

The devil is a liar and that is not THE AGREEMENT that God has with His children. For the word of God says “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that WE (this means you) may obtain MERCY and find GRACE TO HELP in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).

God has made a way through Jesus Christ for you to come to Him when you have sinned, fallen short, or failed and allow him to clean you up so that you can continue your relationship with Him.

Stop trying to clean up your failures, falls, and sins for God, you must go to God and let Him clean you up. Only what God does for you will last.

Every time a child of God attempts to clean up their life, that life will always get dirty again. In all your falls, shortcomings, failures and outright sins in life turn to God, REPENT, ask God to forgive you and allow His love for you to clean you up.

This is THE AGREEMENT that God made with you when you became His child. This is what is meant in Isaiah 1:18, “Come now and let us (you and God) reason together, saith the Lord though your sins be as scarlet they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson they shall be as wool.”

Don’t stop praying because you have fallen, don’t stop reading the word because you failed, and don’t stop worshiping God because you have sinned. God has made an AGREEMENT WITH HIS CHILDREN.

I am not saying sin on purpose, knowing that God will forgive you, but what I am saying is that when you know that God loves you, and you love God, that love will empower you to live a life that is pleasing to God. For to know God is to love God, and to love God is to know God. That is THE AGREEMENT that God has made with His Children.

For it is written, “For this is the covenant (THIS IS THE AGREEMENT) that I will make with the house of Israel (children of God) after those days saith the Lord. I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts and I will be to them a GOD and they shall be to me as people. And they shall not teach every man his neighbor and every man his brother saying KNOW THE LORD for all shall know (have a personal intimate relationship with) ME (God) from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins, and their iniquities will I remember no more” (Hebrews 8:10-12).

Don’t let the world, your flesh, or the devil condemn you and beat you up because of your mistakes, failures, or sins. Repent, turn to God, ask for forgiveness and watch the love of God clean up your life. This is THE AGREEMENT He has with you.

Be blessed
