“They Say More Than He Says

There is a certain situation you have come against. It has you going back and forth. One person says you should do this; another person says you should do something else. One moment you feel like you should say this, and the next moment you think you should say something else. As a matter of fact, you ask Facebook, Twitter, and all the other social media what would they do if they were in the same situation. Some may have given some answers you thought about. Some may have given you answers you kind of thought about. And there will be some who will say things you would never even think about doing or saying. Then there are those ideas you would never do but in this situation you just might. All these ideas coming and going have you going back and forth. And the saddest thing about it is you are a child of the Most High God, and after all the information gathering you make this statement: I guess all I have to do now is pray about it.

You make an attempt to pray to God about the situation. As you pray, all you can hear are the ideas the world, your flesh, and the devil have placed in your mind. You cannot hear the counsel of God because of the instructions of the enemy. You tell yourself (and those around you) you have prayed but God has not answered. I do not know who I am talking too but the Spirit of the Lord says to you today, you must repent. I know you may be thinking, repent from what, Pastor Erick? I did not do anything wrong. All I did was seek advice, and then I prayed. Why do I need to repent?

The Word of God says, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3) Wait a minute, Pastor Erick! I have to stop you right there. I have not even thought about going to another god. I have no idea why you even brought this scripture up. Did you go to God first? No, you tried to figure things out for yourself, which meant you put yourself before God. Then, you went to another person to ask their advice before you went to God. Then, you took your situation to social media; again this was before you went to God with your problem. And then you make the statement: All I have to do now is pray. You see religion hast taught you  idolatry is just serving another god or worshipping a statue. But the true definition of idolatry is when you place anything or anyone before God, including yourself. The Word of God says, “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I, the Lord thy God am a jealous God . . .” (Exodus 20:5)

The reason why you cannot get instructions or answers is because you put everything and everyone before God. And since they were first with their counsel, guidance, ideas, and instructions, you listened to them (the enemy of your soul) before you went to Him (God), who is the lover of your soul. Ask God to forgive you for going to the world, your flesh (feelings and/or emotions), and the devil first, and leaving Him (the counsel of God) for last. Repent from idolatry and put God first in your life about anything and everything. And know this. Since you put Him first, He may choose to use a person to give you the answer. Or He may use a certain situation to open the eyes of your understanding about  problem. But when you go to them first before you go to Him (God), you must know their instructions will cause you to be in limbo and confusion about the situation. For it is written:

Cease, my son (my daughter), to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge. (Proverbs 19:27 [emphasis added])

Go to God first. Understand His ways are not your ways and His thoughts are not your thoughts. But when you go to Him first, it gives Him permission to answer you any way He chooses.

Be Blessed!
