Thought for Today: Your Precious Gift from God

There are many things that the world, your flesh, and especially the devil want to take from you. They want to rob you of your peace, joy, happiness, strength, purpose, and destiny. 

But there is one thing that the enemy secretly desires and will use all the tricks, strategies, plots, and plans to get it. The one thing that the enemy secretly desires is your soul. Jesus said “For what is a man (woman) profited, if he (she) gains the whole world, and lose his (her) own soul? Or what shall a man (woman) give in exchange for his (her) soul” (Matthew 16:26). 

You see, the soul of a man and the soul of a woman is a precious gift from God. Your soul is where your decision-making capabilities lay. Whatever influences your soul also controls your spirit and the very essence of who you are.  

The devil wants more than to possess (have complete power over) your soul. If the devil can have complete power over your soul (your decision-making abilities), he can get you to do and say whatever he wants.  

For the one who is in control of your soul will influence your spirit. It’s not just the devil that is after your soul. The world is after your soul (your decision-making abilities) as well,  if they can take over your soul then the world can get you to act just like them, talk just like them, and live just like them.  

For the word of God says, “Be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2). 

If the devil or the world ain’t after your soul, your flesh (feelings and/or emotions) will look to have power over your soul (your decision-making abilities). For the word of God says, “This I say then walk (live your life) in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh (feeling and/or emotions) lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary one to the other so that ye cannot do the things that ye would” (Galatians 5:16-17).

I don’t know who I am talking to, but the Holy Spirit of God says to you, your soul does not belong to the world, your soul does not belong to your flesh, and your soul definitely doesn’t belong to the devil.  

He created your soul, “And the LORD GOD formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7). Your soul does not belong to the world your flesh or the devil for the word of God says “Behold ALL SOULS ARE MINE as the soul of the father so also the soul of the son is mine; the soul that sinneth (that is separated from me says the Lord) it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:4). 

God says to you today, “I am the lover of your soul. I want to be the one to influence your soul, to give directions to your spirit to live an amazing life.” Stop for just a second and think about what influences your decision-making abilities (your soul). Does fear, frustration, anger, unbelief, doubt, anxiety, anger, or hopelessness influence your decision-making abilities? 

For it is written, “Unto thee O LORD do I lift up MY SOUL. O my God I trust in thee; let me not be ashamed let not mine enemies’ triumph over me” (Psalms 25:1-2). 

YOUR SOUL is a precious gift from God, He wants to be the one to influence your decision-making ability to live the life that He has planned for you, not the life the world, your flesh, or the devil has planned for you. Place your precious gift (your soul) into God’s hands and watch your life change forever.
